Privacy Policy
Last Updated: January 30, 2026
Overview
This privacy policy describes how the “.wallet” app (“the App”) collects, uses, and protects your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about our data practices.
Pass Data
When you import passes (such as boarding passes, event tickets, or store cards) into the App:
- Pass content including organization name, descriptions, images, and barcodes
- Pass metadata such as colors, logos, and expiration dates
- Format-specific data required to display and update passes
Device Storage
The App stores all pass data locally on your device:
- Pass information is saved in a local database
- Associated images and assets are stored in the app’s internal storage directory
- No pass data is transmitted to our servers
Local Storage Only
All pass data is stored exclusively on your device. The App:
- Does not upload your passes to external servers
- Does not share your pass information with third parties
- Does not track or analyze your usage patterns
Pass Updates
When you enable automatic refresh for passes:
- The App contacts the original pass issuer’s servers (as specified in the pass file)
- Updates are requested using authentication tokens provided by the issuer
- Communication occurs directly between your device and the issuer’s servers
- We do not intercept, store, or have access to this communication
Background Processing
The App uses background workers to:
- Automatically refresh passes that have auto-refresh enabled
- Check for updates every 24 hours (only when connected to WiFi and battery is not low)
- All refresh operations follow the same privacy protections as manual refreshes
Data Security
Device-Level Protection
- All data is stored in the app’s private storage area, protected by Android’s security model
- Data is accessible only to the App and cannot be accessed by other apps
- Pass assets and database are automatically removed when you uninstall the App
Network Security
- All network communications with pass issuers use HTTPS encryption
- Authentication tokens are securely stored and transmitted
- Network requests are made only to endpoints specified by pass issuers
Your Rights and Control
You have complete control over your data:
- Delete passes: Remove any pass at any time by swiping to delete
- Disable auto-refresh: Turn off automatic updates for any pass
- Complete data removal: Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all stored data
Third-Party Services
Pass Issuers
When you import a pass, you’re importing content created by third parties (airlines, event organizers, retailers, etc.). These issuers:
- Define the pass content and update mechanisms
- May collect information when the App requests pass updates
- Have their own privacy policies governing their services
- Control the web services that provide pass updates
The App acts only as a local storage and display tool for passes you choose to import.
Children’s Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect or solicit information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are under 13, please do not use the App.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
